DAY 15
Monday 21st march 2016 @8:40am. I was in the training room in the library were I was working on the Ms Access in preparation for my ECDL test.
@2pm, in the afternoon we had a meeting with Madam Gurdish on “GET TO KNOW OURSELF”. At this session, all fellows were given 15minute each to introduce themselves by stating your Names, Background (family), Education (School Qualification), Employment, Profession, Hobby, Experience, Future Plan etc. This session was good, interactive and help us to know each other very well.
DAY 16
Tuesday 22nd march 2016 @9am, I was in the training room in the library were I was working on the Ms Access and Project Management in preparation for my ECDL test.
@1pm, I went to Stratford were I did one of the ECDL module examination which I passed.
Wednesday 23rd & Thursday 24th march 2016 @9am, knowledge dock room KD1.28 and KD 1.29 we attend a training on “PUBLIC SPEAKING”,By Mr. Vince Stevenson (The Fear Doctor), college of public speaking London.
The main objective was train us on how we can develop public speaking skills. He ask us what made a public speech which includes;
1)Use of words 2) How to recover when it goes wrong 3) Avoiding mannerism 4) How to connect—Physiological, Psychological 5)Humour 6)Delivery the correct content 7) Objectivity| Subjectivity 8) Voice Projection 9) Stage fright (managing anxiety) etc.
He further explain that whenever we are to give a speech we should ask our self the following questions:
a) What type of speaker do you want to be?
b) How do you want your audience to perceive you as a speaker or as a human being?
He advise us to Note the CONTENT, how you deliver it and your sincerity. Is it REAL, TIMELY when you speak. He explain to us the 3(three) universal law of public Speaking- (i) it is not what you say, t’s the way you say it (it’s the way you make people feel), (ii) know your audience and (iii) Plan, Prepare and Practice (PPP). He demonstrate practical example by playing video of great speakers for us and give us exercise to practice why correcting us in the area we make mistake.
§ Voice and body language: we learn about vocal projection, pace, breathing, stance, posture, gesture and movement.

§ Content and structure: we learn about preparation, organization, narrative, framing, messaging and visual aids (including PowerPoint).
How? He deepen your knowledge using concise briefings on best practice, case study examples, practical tips and rules for what works.

§ Audience engagement: we learn how to connect and interact with your audience, secure and maintain their attention, interest and respect, and manage questions and discussions.
